Greater Cambridge Local Plan: Draft Plan consultation (December 2025 to January 2026)
The Council consulted on the draft Greater Cambridge Local Plan and is now reviewing the representations and site submissions received. If you wish to submit a new site or provide updated information about a previous site submission, you will have the opportunity to do so during the Regulation 19 consultation in summer 2026.
About the Call for Sites and Call for Green Sites
A call for sites is a way for landowners, developers and individuals to suggest sites that might be available for development in the future. It is a normal part of plan making.
Government planning guidance advises that, ‘if the process to identify land is to be transparent and identify as many potential opportunities as possible, it is important to issue a call for sites and broad locations for development’.
We need to ensure that the sites eventually allocated within the Plan are deliverable. This means, among other things, that the landowner is open to developing it within the required timescales
Sites felt to be suitable and aligned with the preferred Local Plan Strategy are proposed to be allocated for development.
A Call for Sites Register and map of all of the previously submitted sites will be published shortly.
