ISO Certification for Greater Cambridge Shared Planning

ISO Certification for Greater Cambridge Shared Planning

Greater Cambridge Shared Planning has been certified by the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO). ISO certification is a demonstrable badge of credibility and trust.

The ISO certification is for the Quality Management System (QMS) Greater Cambridge Shared Planning has introduced within Development Management and Compliance. The Development Management Team is responsible for ensuring development proposals are assessed and managed in accordance with relevant planning policies and regulations to promote sustainable development and protect the public interest. The Compliance Team checks that developments have any permissions they require to proceed with their build. It ensures fairness, stops unacceptable/unauthorised development, and helps give communities confidence in the system.

Our QMS will enable us to be more efficient and effective in our processes. This translates into continuous improvement in the services we offer to our customers.

The QMS reviews our processes for dealing with planning applications, breaches of planning control and how we deal with formal and informal complaints. It also examines our competencies including training and technology services.

Greater Cambridge Shared Planning has made a quality commitment to ensure that it maintains ISO 9001:2015 certification and is committed to develop and continually improve the effectiveness of the Quality Management System.  It is also committed to the enhancement of:

  • Quality, specification, and integrity
  • Customer satisfaction
  • Supplier performance
  • Risk minimisation
  • Work ethics and best practices.

Heather Jones, Deputy Director Planning and Building Quality, said,

“Congratulations to everyone involved in the Quality Management System and our ISO certification is a wonderful validation of our efforts. Maintaining our quality processes is a team effort. We can only achieve these commitments with the help of the entire organisation. Every single person contributes something to the final objective of meeting customer requirements and where possible exceeding them.”
