Greater Cambridge Shared Planning Service recognised at national planning awards
Greater Cambridge Shared Planning is celebrating as the Marleigh scheme has received a Commendation at the Royal Institute of Planners Awards (RTPI) 2023.
The Marleigh scheme has been recognised in the category of Excellence in Planning for Communities (large schemes) at a ceremony in London this week, showcasing the best in the planning profession.
Marleigh is a sustainable urban quarter to the east of Cambridge based on a robust masterplan and a collaborative design code and planning process.
Judges commended the scheme for, 'including infrastructure in the 1st phase of the project which, created a strong sense of community from its inception.'
The RTPI Awards for Planning Excellence, now in their 46th year, celebrate outstanding plans, projects and people that demonstrate the power of planning. These awards continue to recognise and reward the brightest talent in the profession; the most outstanding plans, projects and people helping to transform economies, environments, and communities.
Lindsey Richards, RTPI Vice President 2023 commented:
“Last night was a fantastic celebration of our RTPI Awards for Planning Excellence winners. We had a record number of entries this year from across our nations and regions as well as internationally and it was a privilege to see the continuing positive contribution that planners deliver for society. Our profession is thriving and innovating to find ways to do even more for the communities nationally and internationally.”
