Greater Cambridge Shared Planning Empowers Members with Key Training for Effective Planning Decisions
Greater Cambridge Shared Planning (GCSP) hosted its annual member training sessions, including an in-person event at the Council Chamber in Cambourne. The training was part of the GCSP Member Training Programme and was for members of South Cambridgeshire District Council Planning Committee, Cambridge City Council Planning Committee, and the Joint Development Control Committee (JDCC) and their substitutes.
Led by Anna Cronin from Fortismere Associates Limited, the sessions covered important topics, including the functions of the planning committee and role of members in the planning decision making process, ethics and standards in planning decisions, the pre-application and planning application process and positive engagement in planning.
The training was successfully organised by Philippa Kelly (GCSP Strategic Sites Manager) with support from Toby Williams (GCSP Development Manager and Planning Compliance).
Member training sessions are a vital part of GCSP's commitment to empowering members with the knowledge and skills needed for effective planning decisions. By providing valuable insights and fostering professionalism, GCSP aims to make a positive impact on the Greater Cambridge area.
