Darwin Green phase 2 and 3 Development Site public inquiry

South Cambridgeshire District Council is dealing with an appeal against non-determination of a planning application (Ref: 22/02528/OUT) for up to 1,000 residential dwellings, secondary school, primary school, community facilities, retail uses, open space and landscaped areas, associated engineering, demolition and infrastructure works at Darwin Green (phases 2 and 3).

The appeal has been made under Section 78 by Barratt David Wilson Homes on behalf of itself and The North West Cambridge Consortium of Landowners.

The main issue for the appeal is the effect of the proposal on the demand for potable water, associated abstraction, and the associated risk of deterioration to waterbodies in the Greater Cambridge area.

A public inquiry will take place Tuesday 16 January 2024, for a period of up to 8 days, at The Guildhall, Market Hill, Cambridge, CB2 3QJ.

The core documents for this planning appeal are being hosted on the Greater Cambridge Shared Planning website.

This page will be updated over the course of the inquiry.
