Heather Jones

Deputy Director Planning and Building Quality
Heather joined Cambridge City Council in 2017 and has extensive experience in leading shared services, particularly through transformation and change. Areas of expertise include: all aspects of planning, building control, street naming and numbering, land charges, housing and other consultancy services.
Heather has worked in local government across England and Wales, and has previously been a member Building Regulations Advisory Committee for Wales (BRACW), a Welsh Government Advisory Committee for a period of four years, operated as a non-executive Board Director for five years and was a member of the Construction Industry Council (CIC) Diversity and Inclusion Panel.
Current roles include member of the Centre for Digital Built Britain (CDBB) Local Authority Digital Working Group. Interests include the social value of early strategic interventions in the built environment and quality place making.
